"We had such a great time at dinner, listening to Tom Paxton! We had a large party with guests of all ages - from adults down to very young children, and he kept everyone entertained.  From singing Disney songs at request for the younger bunch (even including Frozen), to having a few of the adults join him in a rousing rendition of Rawhide, Tom showed an enormous range - and we all loved it!"

"When I chatted with Tom about our 50th anniversary party, he really listened to what we want to hear. The Buffalo Joe Bluegrass Band musicians are very talented and experienced. The music was never too much or too little.  Great when we needed some background & perfect when it was time to dance and have fun . . .all ages from 3 -82 years.  We can't recommend them enough."

Hello and welcome to my website.

I am a musician based in Aspen, performing as a singer/guitarist and bass player in the Roaring Fork Valley.

During this winter season you can find me every Sunday and many Saturday afternoons performing as a solo singer/guitarist at the Aspen Highland Ritz Carlton. I also do engagements as a soloist for private and public events such as wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners, house parties and corporate events in venues and homes around the Roaring Fork and Vail valleys.

During the summer you will find me most evenings performing as a solo singer/guitarist up at the Burlingame Cabin on Snowmass Mountain.  These sunset dinners are put on by Blazing Adventures.  They take participants up the mountain in jeeps for a great view from the top of Coney Glade, and then down to the cabin for dinner and entertainment around the campfire by yours truly.  Call 970-923-4544 to book your sunset dinner. Some evenings I will be at other venues, so check to make sure I will be up there on the night of your dinner if that's important, but any of the musicians that I might have subbing for me on a given night are also great.

My Ritz Carlton Sunday afternoon engagement continues during the summer season and I appear occasionally at the East Maroon Portal for Maroon Bells Outfitter's horseback campfire dinners.  To book your horseback dinner, call 970-920-4677.

On many summer evenings I also perform for family get-togethers, weddings and rehearsal dinners or other special events.

I also play acoustic bass and sing in the Buffalo Joe Bluegrass Band. The band is great in concert settings and  background music situations and can step it up for couples dancing, line dancing  and square dancing with me as the square dance caller.

Go to the video page to look through the videos of me performing in different musical settings to see if I might be a good fit for your upcoming event.  The video page also includes some clips of the Buffalo Bluegrass Band in different venues as well as a clip my wife and I doing Xmas selections.

You will also find a page that shows my singer/guitarist song list, as well as the store page with links to purchase my kids CD "Smore Songs" and the CD that my wife and I produced back in '84 of Aspen singers of all ages performing X-mas music entitled "Merry Christmas Aspen." John Denver is featured on several of the tracks.

Many of my afternoons are spent teaching music, and I am the musical director for the Aspen Country Day School's spring musicals each year.  For more info visit https://paxtonstudios.musicteachershelper.com

I am often confused for the famous folksinger by the same name, and though I am not "the" Tom Paxton, I had the pleasure of backing him up on guitar at the Wheeler Opera House in October 2014.  Here is a picture of us backstage with me wearing his signature Greek fisherman's cap.

Here we are on the top of Aspen Mountain, July 2017.
